City of Dallas: Beat The Heat Program

We just wanted to share some phone numbers and information about Dallas programs that assist the elderly with staying cool in the summer. 

 1.       The City of Dallas People Helping People Program will install Air Conditioners at 214 670-7320 for seniors. 

2.       Beat the Heat Program through Dallas County  has an emergency line 214 819-6001.  They provide air conditioners. 

3.       Senior Source, a not for profit organization, collaborates with the North Texas Air Condition Project.  Air conditioners are provided. The number is 214 823-5700. 

4.       Reliant Energy provides funds for  a “Beat the Heat Effort” at Martin Luther King Center, at 214 670-8416  and West Dallas Multipurpose Center at 214 670-6530 for seniors and other citizens.  They can have relief from the heat at their homes or  outside.  They provide snacks and activities for those seeking a cool area. 

5.       The Dallas County Weatherization Program offers assistance with cooling unit repair.
